Maria Con Su Bisabuela

Maria and I spent the morning together with my grandmother, Abuela. She is Maria's great-grandmother, bisabuela, Antonia.
They drew pictures and played with Maria's bunny figures. Abuela made tortillas de harina.
Maria said, "Mommy, you should make tortillas like these." I should.

Oh, what a gorgeous picture, Natalie! A complete treasure.

Paul & I want to get Amira down to Portland to visit with her great-grandma. Hopefully soon.

Aw, I'm jealous. I want some tortillas de harina. Maybe one of these days we can meet up and visit nuestra abuela juntos. Did I say that right?!? LOL xoxo tina

How wonderful it is that you have so many generations of family! I don't have any grandparents left alive and I didn't really know them well when they were. You are truely blessed, Natalie.

Two beautiful examples of womankind! One is young, just learning to experience life. The other, is not-so-young, her life experiences worn on her sweet face like a badge of honor! What secrets are they sharing with one another? I wish I could know...

This photo is definitely a keeper Natalie!

You take such fantastic photos! This is stunning. She'll frame that when she's an adult. :)

Everyone else is talking about how sweet your girlies look together, but the REAL news is those homemade tortillas... Mmm mmm. We had a Hispanic family we were close with in our church growing up, and I'll never forget Nora's homemade jam-filled sopapillas. Damn, those were good.
