~This Moment~

~This Moment is a Friday tradition, capturing a special moment from the week~

If you're inspired to do the same, leave a link to your moment in the comments, for all to see.
El Capitan, Central Coast, California... morning time, waking in a tent. This moment makes me want to stop time, at least slow everything down, because this thing we call childhood and family time... it's whirring passed at a pace that cannot be comprehended. It's all been so beautiful, and rough, and sublime, and soul stirring, and good. Can't we just stay here a little bit longer, more streams to cross, more laughs to share, more stories to read, and adventures to enjoy, as a family... ?

What a beautiful, special moment you captured, Natalie. It sounds like you're having a glorious time camping with your family - savoring every moment.

I know, I know. But hey, don't forget, you'll get a second-isn chance with your grandkids someday if you're lucky. Beautiful moment, glad you're soaking it up. It sure looks cozy in there.

I've been memorizing moments in my mind. Photos help immensely and I would be so sad without them. And, I've found that taking a few moments to take in everything - the feel, the smell, the emotion and the details. I did this with Tova, just shortly before he died. It is one of my dearest memories. It has helped to have that mental snapshot - in addition to the photos and videos of him. It was a revelation to discover and I've been trying to apply it to day-to-day life with Amira, Paul and myself.

You are, again, so natural at this. Your post about nostalgia really highlighting this fact.

This is a lovely moment! You live and love them so thoroughly, I find myself wanting to be a part of those moments with you. They are treasures.
