Peonies and Peaches, Entry Life :: One Hundred Forty Three

Somehow this mobile kitchen cart moved from the office to the entry. I am sure it was meant to be temporary, but it's become a fixture. I am reminded of Rabbit, vexed by the addition of Pooh's posterior stuck in his entry... once he's resigned to the situation, he makes the best of it. I didn't even bother trying to budge the cart out of the way, instead, after a couple of weeks of it still sitting there, I scrubbed it, covered it, added some baskets, and try to keep pretty things there, plus keys, or paper work, the odd this or that. Today it's peonies and peaches, and not the least bit vexing.

With Infinity More Monkeys, a picture a day.

The blue ribbon is especially endearing. Do your peonies lose their color when you cut them and put them in water? The deep pink ones I cut yesterday are white now -- I don't ever remember that happening before (but I also don't recall having such an abundant crop that I felt OK about cutting any). We're all quite a bit like Rabbit over here; making whatever lands anywhere in the house just another part of the environment....

That's Alex's... for his sculpture. (smile)
The only cutting I am doing is when I trim the ends when I bring them home from Trader Joes. They don't grow here... at least, not that I've seen. Yours turned to white? That's pretty dramatic! The neat thing about these is that TJ sells them closed, so they look really uninspired, except as something full of potential. I love watching them unfold and open at home. Also, I love that we take our home decorating cues from Rabbit!

Peonies and peaches are a scrumptious combination. And certainly beautifying.
