Something tickled their
funny bones, when Maria and Leo were visiting our Halloween plot.
Ever since our tours of historic sites of New England, which included a lot,
a whole lot, of cemeteries, we knew we would have to set up at least of few of
William's beautiful tombstones. Maria insisted she would help her brother with the work, and she did.
Somehow, our cemetery never feels actually spooky. Sure, it's Halloween and a graveyard is about as morbid as can be, but William's work makes for one of our favorite gathering spots at this time of year. We appreciate its artful, historic reverence, and welcome having it be a part of our seasonal celebrations...
especially when friends come by to share in the fun and laughs.

I'm so glad that William's artwork got set up (as somehow I just knew it would this year); I'll be so interested to see how his photographs and visits inspire him to take this project further. Meanwhile, of course, cemeteries are peaceful and beautiful and only as scary as we happily decide to let them be!

You are so right about the cemeteries. It was wonderful to visit them, to admire the care and reverence they represent, to pay respect to the lives that were, and be grateful for what we have now.
