Bambi made a berry pie for Alex's birthday, and it's beautiful, and it's delicious. I am consumed with nostalgia and I feel warm waves of happy memories, gratitude, visions of his baby smile, his songs, his art, his remarkable understanding of how things work. There seems to be no end to good memories, and as much as I would love to live in those days, and moments, again, I am as happy for today, for the plans and hopes going forward. Happy Birthday, Alex. You are, as ever, capable and bright, and it is a pleasure and honor to see you, to know you, to observe your journey.
