move-in ready, but certainly a great deal of charm and curb appeal, don't you agree?
The foundation is set, the house is constructed... do note the bay window, the flower boxes. This is
Chez Chèvre, a cedar cottage for Tasha Tudor Goat and Ada Lovelace Goat. The lucky darlings will have shade, and shelter, and chicken neighbors. As for the
gentle ribbing about "plumbing..." I should have elaborated. We buried some PVC, so we can have basic water hook ups. A spigot, and two water bowls that refill. No
water closets, or hot water heaters, no bidet for the chicas, not even an energy efficient dishwasher!
Yeah, yeah... I know, they're really roughin' it!
Just a quick update, because I need to get back to painting the chica's cottage... just a little white wash for easier maintenance.
Carpeting comes later... hahahaha.

Any bets on how long the house will last? You know that goats can eat pretty much anything, right? Also, I hope you'll post photos when one of them gets up on the roof!

As for the roof top challenge... while they are related to deer, I don't give them much credit for flying!
They're pretty short in the legs, and heavy 'round the middle. You're right though... they will try. I won't leave the step ladder in their yard, that's for sure! And if I catch her, I'll post a picture of Tasha stuck in something... that's a likely scenario.
How long before they climb up on the roof?

DeleteAnd then... my butt gets cold and numb from sitting on concrete pavers, and my legs
protest the tight squeeze, and I hunker out of there! lol
WOW WOW WOW!!!! This little house for the chickens is gorgeous!! You must be so happy with it. Now they'll be safe and cozy from all the southern California predators. No more late night calls to protect and heal the wounded. Instead how about random late night movie calls?
