    That shot is just unbelievable. You must be the "bird whisperer" because I just can't imagine a bird perched on your hand like that. So glad you were able to get that shot.

      Photo taken by my son, Alex, with my phone. It's been quite a surprise, and delight, but I cannot claim to have any special influence... I think it's the special bird. Later this same day, he visited William, Alex, Maria, and James... and he took a lot of peanuts! I'm sure we haven't seen the last of him!

      Hello, Carie.
      This fellow is a Coastal Scrub Jay... a corvid family bird, like ravens and crows.
      Do you have something similar?

      That's true, Kim! I don't often make the cut...
      The bird is sensing a lot of goodness, and has made friends with all of us... he's bringing in his friends, too. Peanut in hand... friends for life!

      Coastal Scrub Jay, with a rich Mexican heritage, I'd say.
      Also, loves peanuts, and handouts.
