I can relate to so much that you...I love this post. I can relate to so much that you bring up... the distance from family, the returning home and the belovedness of material things that hold in themselves some of the people and events of which they have been a part. The way that "things matter" is not easily summed up, but you always show by your blog and your pictures that they do matter. I was immediately comforted somehow just by seeing that top photo of the quilt, before I read how it is meaningful to you. Thank you for sharing your family and your loves!

I was also interested to read your take on traveling and the way it simplifies things and allows us for a time to have more control of a smaller sphere. Maybe that is one thing that I like about my road trips... but train travel might be even better, since you don't have to control the vehicle! I have been considering doing some train travel, but I wonder if I would have to change trains a lot to get to my destination... Did you have to?

Lastly, your trip with just your daughter seems to have been the sweetest thing to do together - very special for her to have that time with her mother. What a gift!GretchenJoannahttp://www.gretchenjoanna.comnoreply@blogger.com
