Just cut your strips of binding (2 1/4" or 2 3/8" is a nice width just pick one or the other). Fold it in half and iron as you go so that it now measures 1 1/8" or 1 3/16" width. Take the cut edge and place it on the cut edge of your quilt top (front side) and sew with a 1/4" seam allowance. Fold it to the back, pin in place and hand sew it down. Here's a great tutorial for it: http://www.heatherbaileydesign.com/HB_QuiltBinding.pdfTami @ Lemon Tree Taleshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06655631671353374029noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3534240.post-26343141285074592862013-09-14T07:40:06.113-07:002013-09-14T07:40:06.113-07:00You're sweet Theresa. Thank you, Tami. So, a 'double fold' binding... is that the one I can make with that kind of smashed conical metal device that you pull the strip of fabric through?<br />I wonder if mine is big enough...Natalie, the Chickenbloggerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07424213130274740719noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3534240.post-62355659511696206122013-09-13T19:06:14.349-07:002013-09-13T19:06:14.349-07:00You'll have longer life with a double fold bin...You'll have longer life with a double fold binding that you make yourself. It doesn't have to be bias cut since you have a square/rectangular quilt. Plus once you machine sew the first side you'll have more time to hand sew the back side of the binding down. Very cute quilt!Tami @ Lemon Tree Taleshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06655631671353374029noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3534240.post-4745928493407547042013-09-13T11:03:11.328-07:002013-09-13T11:03:11.328-07:00Hi Natalie!!
