Oh Groundhog!

Whatever the wise Whistle-Pig's prognostication, we were determined to spend Groundhog Day in the snow, in nature. So, we dug out our gloves and hats, packed a picnic, and set our course for east and north, for pines, and oaks, and winter. This is some of what we enjoyed~

Idyllwild, California~
We can't wait to go back.

  1. I am sorry that you don't get to "enjoy" a proper winter...we can swap any old time you want to...

  2. When I was young I used to wish for snow here... in Napa. My Aunt from Michigan thought I was silly! Now I am old and I like that we don't get snow here!

    Great photos!

    1. Thank you... it's a beautiful place for taking pictures.
Maybe I wouldn't like it to snow right out my front door. Maybe! But it would have been lovely to see, in this mountain town.

  3. Beautiful! We should plan a shared adventure - maybe go in on a huge cabin for 2 nights.

    Gorgeous photos, Natalie!

    1. Oaks, pines, manzanita (the red bark, as well as the ninth photo). And the seat in the rock was really cool. I let Geoff know if he ever wants to romantically impress me with a _big rock_... he can do it with granite!
