One Quarter Down :: Three Hundred Forty Four

First quarter is finished, and Max is home. We feel elated about this... having him here, and knowing how diligently, judiciously, he took to his classes. All the way home these two kept me alert and engaged, as the conversation moved from the physics of torque to pre-alegbra and the joys of trigonometry. They're already making plans, too.

Better at Night :: Three Hundred Forty Two

You should see it after dark, when the lights twinkle and the sidelights are aglow. It's so nice to come home to.

We Gather Beneath The Tree :: Three Hundred Forty

Beneath the Christmas tree is the new hot spot in the Bird House. Cairo naps there, on the tree skirt, which he's claimed, too. Bring a pillow, your hot tea, daydream with us. Cairo is purring. All is snuggly and bright.

Each Shining Light :: Three Hundred Thirty Nine

Oh Christmas Tree! I hear Nat King Cole, it smells bright, crisp, and beneath the tree is the new gathering spot for tea, homework, daydreaming. Cairo the Boo Kitty adores his tree. I hate to think what he'll do when the holidays are over and the goats get his tree. Where will he nap? Where will he find another tree skirt to slide around? Our kitty is tickled with Christmas, from his nose to the end of his fluffy tail. This week there are only lights, which is lovely enough, and when Max is finished with finals, and home, again, we will add ornaments. I wonder how calmly enamored Cairo can remain when the tree is covered in bright shiny temptations?

Oh Noble Fir :: Three Hundred Thirty Eight

Sunday morning, bright and early (before noon, anyway) we piled into our trusty Odyssey and went out in search of our perfect Christmas tree. We were hardly there five minutes when we saw this one, held it up, turned it 'round, and agreed: This one! I even managed to get a picture of our four, all together. They really are quite obliging. And tall.

Sigh.

Oh, time and memories, and the scent of evergreen. I am so glad for these days, and the memories of Christmases gone by.
