His Project for the Runway

Alex finished his project for the high school Fashion and Design Guild. William, Maria, and I were at our first runway fashion show, to cheer for Alex's impressive and original design... metal shop savvy + steampunk style = very cool.

Details are at Love and Rockets, and by the time we are at Maker Faire, I think we will be seeing new and improved fashioned art.

It Is a Happy Easter!

We have only just begun to have our Easter fun. With spirits rejoicing, and happy alleluias, we are in the midst of some wonderful celebrating. Our friend, Corina, got us off to a glamorous start... and we have not slowed down one bit...

Geoff brought back our original egg-drill-bot, and with many creative artists, dyes, eggs, crayons, markers, and stickers on hand... we went to straight to play... coloring dozens of Easter eggs.

Caia, Maria, and Mike

We tried natural dyes, from onion, beets, and cabbage... but nothing can match the coloring power of the dyes from those little squeeze bottles!

There were some real eye-poppin' colors!

Feathers everywhere!

Smiles too.

Both egg-bot and drill bot were big hits. Who can resist a power tool holiday?

Many styles of egg decorating were sampled... including Michal's drill-bot and waxing method. All successful. All beautiful.

I think this must be one of Mike's pictures. He's good with a camera!

How many eggs did we color?!
Egg salad, anyone?

Michael and I aren't often in the pictures, but we put our cameras down and got caught in the act of having a good time.

Eli is explaining the feature on Michael's camera... a smile detector!

Here's a beautiful smile.

And another!

Chris and Maria, looking for the perfect shade.

One of those days that you don't want to end...
I think I will visit Michael's blog, and relive some more Easter Memories!

Family and friends, and a little chocolate?... it's a sweet life.

And the day is just beginning.
