{this moment}

A single photo - no words - capturing a moment from the week. A simple, special, extraordinary moment. A moment I want to pause, savor and remember.

Wonder Struck Believers

Wonder struck.

Believers.

When Guido showed up at the Bird House, everyone was entertained by his antics, his charms, the theeck accent. But Amira and Maria were more than amused. They were engaged, wonder struck believers. And that may have been the most entertaining part of all.

Sunday, under a blue sky. Friends dropping by. Polishing off the last of the fresh salsa, opening a bottle of wine. We were felting bracelets, like we learned to do at the Atwood Street Festival. Hot air balloons drifted east, our conversations lingered over Haunted House plans, sewing a mask, felting dreads, how to operate a nineteenth century optometrist's device... stuff like that.

But Amira and Maria never broke away from a constant gaze into Guido's face. They tried to teach him things, they teased him, they adored him, they cajoled him. Guido had them eating out of his small, soft hands.

Seasonal Touches

The spiders have been decorating our garden... it's kind of creepy, if you happen to stumble through one of their webs, in the dark, but by the light of day those webs are magical apparitions.

The forecast is for heat and wind: Santa Ana. Hopefully, only heat and wind. I much prefer the cooler, seasonal days, and dewdrop mornings, fog, and sweater weather.

Is this change of color for fall? I think these shrubs are always tinged with autumn colors. Maria spied one fallen leaf and exclaimed wildly! "Fall! Fall! A leaf! A leaf!" Time for an expedition, I think. Somewhere in this county we must be able to find some beautiful deciduous trees undressing for fall.

Max called me out to see these morning webs, sparkling from the foggy morning. We agreed that it is terribly thoughtful of nature to bestow these decorations upon the garden. It's a perfect touch for our Halloween mood. And speaking of Halloween mood... how about the artists who have been doing all this work? The spiders are big this year... really big! Just a warning!

Sorry, if I gave you the chills, the heebie-jeebies! Maybe you don't want to see this next one!

Gah! I just gave myself the heebie-jeebies!!

We Click!

Blogging has many rewards. This week we are enjoying the best: face to face time with blogging friends. The anticipation was wild... full of questions, eager joy, wondering, and then a comfortable and settled realization came over me, that this meeting would actually be as natural and relaxed as any meeting with old friends. And it has been... seven years of sharing our lives through emails, and blog posts has made our visit simple, natural... as though we have always known each other. And the girls? Amira and Maria? Well! They just *click!* It's delightful.

Just hanging out. In the kitchen, at the beach, fine tuning our survival strategy in case of the zombie apocalypse... we totally click!

Of course the Anagram Sisters have taken no heed of the rest of us, and World War Z. They are off, together, filling the sea with sand, putting on big hats, running, skipping, and laughing. Non-stop play and smiles.

Anna Banana came over too, and there was more connecting and filling in. Lovely and good. I think about the only thing that could improve this visit, would be if we could find a wardrobe to could get into and bring Tarie over! I think we could make this happen... someday!

There is more to say, more to treasure, more to do... so, let the day begin!

I want to enjoy every beautiful Moment.
