Broken Blues

No new posts... not the sort I'd like to post, anyway. All month I've struggled with new updates to my iMac and iPhone, which have made it slow and frustrating to import my photos. Then we saw that the iMac could take an updated operating system; Geoff installed OS X Sierra. Bottom line, so far: Disasterous. All my iMac can do is reboot. Reboot, again and again. And we cannot tell if the hard drive is getting destroyed or what's happening. The _Geniuses_ at Apple wanted to clear everything to "fix" the issue, or to find the issue. Sigh. Now the computer is at some other place that specializes in data recovery. Do you feel the ring of pain around my head, detect my angst and sorrow? It's real. Probably the real issue is I'm left with all this "free" time that could be used for cleaning my office, doing laundry, alphabetizing our cats' medical records, and preparing three healthful meals a day. It's awful! The pressure. The dread suspicion that the universe has found another way to suggest I quit blogging for keeps, finally, please. No way, universe! I'm no quitter. Break my car, my computer, my piggy bank. But you can't break my indomitable spirit, my obsessive blog habit, my last semi-legit excuse for getting little else accomplished! Heck, even Blogspot's phone app won't stop dying, so I'm scratching and pecking this drivel out through regular online channels... I've got the Broken Blues, but I'm still trying. Do you ever feel like it's all really pointless and a lot of things are rather hateful? (asking for a friend.)

With Infinity More Monkeys, a picture a day.

Oh dear - technology can be disastrous and incredibly stressful. However did we manage without it? Well, we wouldn't have made friends for a start ... Take some time out and clear your head - or some crochet? Why not put another round of crochet on all those spare granny squares and then do 'join as you go'. It's SO simple. There are loads of tutorial (oh dear, they're online) but check out this one http://attic24.typepad.com/weblog/joining-asyougo-sqaures.html when your computer is up and running. It'll take you only a few minutes to get the jist of it and then you can let the computer take a break again! Have fun - that's the main thing. Sending wishes full of apple blossom and tulips!!! Ax

I'm so sorry, Natalie. We rely so much on things functioning without much friction and when everything collapses, it's hair-pulling! I do hope somebody can fix your Mac, genius or no.
