Chirp-Chirp-Chirp BirdHouse Notes

oh my heck. It really is as though I have packed up and left town. Blame Duolingo? I am 90 days into learning Dutch. "Learning." It's so frickin' hard! I did half as much French and felt surprisingly capable, and put it all to good use in France. But Dutch? Not so much. Anyway, I have learned I am a bit compulsive/competitive, and I only stop when my hand cramps from taking notes. Frankly, this is an embarrassing admission, which brings me to another obstacle between me and blogging: I talk too much. At least, I feel self-conscious about all the years of over-sharing, and it makes me 1. avoid posting 2. tempted to cull and curate, so that only shiny, sophisticated, non-personal posts remain. I have been absent, obvs. And I cannot figure out which is more daunting, more uncomfortable: Coming back to blogging, writing, bringing things up to date here, or walking away and leaving this space in an awkward, sad state. I do have two convictions, and those are that I am very uncomfortable with how open and exposed I have made myself in my years of writing and sharing, and secondly that in many ways I have not been open enough. Thank you, Janece, and Ruth, Laura Bray for checking in... being connected, and supported, means a great deal to me. September 16, 2022 ************************* Everything... the world is doing its thing and we are holding on, taking notes, giving thanks, and trying to keep our wits about us. I still want to be a blogger, but I have not been the sort of blogger I would like to be, and I regret this. Fortunately, at least half of my excuses and reasons are good ones, like trying to learn French: I have a 62 day Duolingo streak. And packing for a Maker Faire, tackling health hiccups, and thank goodness they are, after all, only hiccups. Is it worse to say very little than nothing at all? We are fine. All fine.
