Days

Rest is not idleness, and to lie sometimes on the grass under trees on a summer's day, listening to the murmur of the water, or watching the clouds float across the sky, is by no means a waste of time.

Amen.

Maria wonders whether Amira has read the PIppi books... and says either way is great, because she is so eager to share the fun with Amira.

Our favorite part has been seeing Maria take the leap from reader to voracious~insatiable~skip lunch reader!

My mom had a tablecloth just like that back in the 50s. And I love the cat in the window!

Mister Foo was watching Geoff, and Geoff was repairing our washtub... the legs always fell out.
It was standing on its last leg! Now they are permanently secured. Nice.

The 1950s? I love vintage tablecloths. Most fabric, actually. But the vintage tablecloths are so pretty, and have such a nice feel to them.

She hasn't read Pippi. Amira will love learning about Pippi's adventures with Maria! :)

Oh-fun! We have two from the series... Pippi on Board, and Pippi In The South Seas.
Shhh... Maria does not know, but I went ahead and ordered the first book. AND... the original movies, which are horribly dubbed, and a dear and sentimental favorite of mine. I hope they are as silly, wild, and appealing as I remember. I think this calls for two play dates: One for reading, and another for a movie night!
