Gathering My Thoughts

Two flowers, sitting on the ground outside the condo we stayed at. So pretty!

Thank you for the kind messages about Betty. It really does feel good to hear from people, and to be reminded of the thoughtfulness in the blogging community. Yesterday Maria read every comment, and then we had another deep cry... even reminding ourselves about Betty's good and long life, we get awfully sad thinking of her, and missing her.

On Saturday, Geoff proposed putting together a slide show from our vacation. Our Mac has a nice feature for that, but it's been a long time since I use their movie or slide show software. I used to make lots of DVDs, and loved it. Well, I still love it! I started after breakfast, and lost track of EVERYTHING until 8:30 that night, and still kept going until after ten. Did I know I could be obsessed?! Maybe. We had 1,700 photos, and a couple hundred more on Geoff's phone. Be warned: if you drop by the Bird House I may subject you to a lovely, but long, yet totally engrossing video slide show of our vacation. The actual point I was getting at is that I am still playing catch-up with all things dutiful and necessary: laundry, bills, and re-acclimating to our time zone. And also scratching my head about how to thank Delia for being our stand-in farmer and cat wrangler.

And one more thing, because life is not complicated enough, I guess: Don't forget that Geoff has declared this:
The Summer of Big Fat Hens!
Oh boy!

Betty certainly had a happy life with you. As will the new crew who've joined the menagerie!

Thank you. This means a lot coming from you. Your own sweet menagerie is an inspiration.
