This bee was happily visiting the school garden where Maria was volunteering after school. Don't you wish every school had a garden, and farm, and kitchen, that students and families could cook, and eat from them, too? What could be more natural?

I've seen or heard about gardens at a lot more schools recently. I'm happy that school administrators see the learning benefits in hands-on gardening. I hope this trend continues.
Dean did a preliminary application for a summer job at a local garden center, and mentioned that he grew up going to a school where learning about gardening (and raising ducks and chickens) was as much a part of his days as learning to read and write.... Every every every child needs this opportunity.
