Rainbow Connection

Double rainbow, home, October 11, 2012
Thinking of you, Geoff, and feeling so thankful for us.

Tomorrow the election, hopefully, will be decided. This has been a long, and strenuous campaign... on every side. I believe that people care deeply, that this is a great country, with good ideals, and tremendous potential. If we give respect, if we act with compassion, things can be alright.

“He drew a circle that shut me out-
Heretic , rebel, a thing to flout.
But love and I had the wit to win:
We drew a circle and took him in!

From the poem Outwitted

Beautiful photo, beautiful poem. I confess I don't understand the partisan nature of politics, on either side of our shared border. Why is it so hard to look past self-interest to the greater good? Why is it so hard for us to care for each other with open hearts and open minds? Thank you for reminding us about respect and compassion.

It's morning here - and this rainbow and the poem are beautiful. And we are all now thinking 'Phew' - it should be something more than that but 'Phew' is good enough, I think, for now.

That poem is wonderful. The rainbow, of course, reminds me of Hawaii.

Double rainbows are good luck! Yes, I let out a big sigh of relief last night when they called the election. I must confess, I am only slightly relieved; as our country looks to have such a long and bumpy road ahead. I love the poem; a good reminder of the way I WANT to feel, even though I don't always manage it :) Thanks for the poetic reminder!
