While We Wait

I am sending love, and heartfelt thoughts with care, and compassion to everyone waiting, to everyone hoping for the best. It won't be the same for all of us, but we will all be living, working, dreaming, and hoping, together in this country, whatever happens. I am reminding myself to breath, to drink water, to step away from news, and shocking posts, from dread. My friends remind me to do for others, any kindness or gesture to ease burdens, brighten someone's day. Make art, sing aloud, care for a loved one, wave my arms, jump around! I have been sketching and painting a house, a daydream cabin where there is always room for one more, where we make things accesible, where we welcome new ideas, follow the constellations, walk among the trees, and tend a garden, rest, make, play, share.

I just love this post.. the kitty interjected with the evolution of the wonderful drawing and painting! I adore art that includes a home and all the little details were so wonderful.. it was magical to see the details added and emerging with each new photo. You are very talented!! ((hugs)), Teresa :-)

I love the drawing. I’ve been knitting an exceedingly simple hat while refreshing my browser.

Beautiful words as aways! I have also stepped away from news and am trying to be positive and hopeful. If only we could all spend the weekend in your daydream cabin! Sending love and hope to all!

Teresa, thank you. It must be some kind of therapy for me... I am just realizing that I immersed myself in creating a tidy home, safe, and comforting, starting small, in two dimensions. Then Maria and I moved our doll house, and totally rearranged all of it. Again, something small and manageable to make comforting and safe. I'm finding energy renewed, and as the feelings of hope increase, so does my interest in making more and more space clear, open, pretty. Thank you for your kind words... I am so so so glad that I deliberately enrolled in art classes, and learned wonderful new skills. I wish I'd started sooner, but this has been a very effective lesson about *better late than never!*

Hello Anonymous!
You've been knitting? Now, I want to see your hat.
It hasn't been easy to stop scrolling through the news and social media.
Thank goodness for colored pencils, yarn, and needles, right?

Thank you, Carolyn. Has our positivity and hope paid off? It seems so... but lo, what a lot of work remains.
I've got my eye on that cabin, too. Even in my imagination, it's soothing to imagine it full of friends, and the laughter traveling through the rooms. Thank for the love and hope. I am happy to wish the same for you and your loved ones, for everyone.
